I don't understand someone can get away with career suicide so many times, but Kanye may have finished the job tonight. In the past, cockiness and lateness have been the perpetrators, but never an attack on an artist. Not only an artist, but a sweetheart like Taylor Swift. Unbelievable. Disrespectful. But it made for good VMAs. Too bad they came at the expense (or what should be the expense) of Kanye's career.

Oh, no doubt that Kanye's a boorish ass, but I'm gonna seriously doubt that last night will - in any way - hurt his career.
I don't think we can suggest that loutish, drunken behavior has ever had much of an effect on the career of people in the music/movie/entertainment industry unless that behavior somehow affects the quality of their work. And I'm guessing that Kanye stays sober while he's making music.
We'll pillory entertainers for freakish predilections - young boys, homosexuality, 'un-patriotic' behavior - but not for drug use either legal or otherwise.
Oh, I understand he is not gonna see his career die. I'm just implying his antics should have killed it by now. I have a lot of respect for his musical prowess, however. Oh well. Everyone will forget in 2 weeks and all will be well.
